Comments: It is estimated that dogs generally learn between 100 and 200 words. They do not pick up grammar and syntax, nor do they grasp abstract concepts, but you can definitely teach your dog to understand concrete words like “sit” or “ball.” Of course, I talk to my dogs as though they understood English perfectly, but that is more for my benefit than for theirs. Far above all of animal creation, the human capacity for language is an absolutely amazing ability. It would seem to derive from our creation in the image of God. How is it, then, that this wonderful ability is used to such negative ends? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all speech was characterized by wisdom and by justice?
Our VBS ended on Friday night with all of the young people and their parents at BCON Corner for the closing program and a pig roast. It is great to have such wonderful kids and their families all together for a great time in the Lord!
Some photos from VBS Wednesday. Thanks to Greg Spencer for taking most of these, and to my granddaughter Meghan for helping me pick out which ones to post
